Genna is a senior at Lincoln High School and has been involved in DECA since her freshman year. While in DECA, Genna has held various leadership roles at the chapter and state level including Chapter President, state V.P. of Chapter Development, and Association President. Outside of DECA, she keeps busy by being involved in Collision, her job, National Honor Society, and as an Editor-in-chief of her school newspaper, The Statesman. As a state officer, Genna looks forward to growing South Dakota DECA and interacting with other DECA members across the nation.
V.P. of Leadership
Haroni is a senior at Washington High School, and has been an active member of DECA since she was a sophomore. DECA has helped Haroni improve her leadership skills which she applies in her involvement in DECA and other activities. Outside of DECA, she is involved in Debate, National Honor Society, Link Crew, Oral Interp, Chemistry Club, Warrior Reads, Choir, Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA), and Girls State. One of her many hopes for South Dakota DECA is to grow the chapters of DECA and to learn from all of its outstanding members.
V.P. of Marketing
Avery is a junior at Roosevelt High School and has been an active member of DECA since her freshman year. Outside of DECA, she holds leadership positions as the secretary for the Big Sioux Region Student Council and Roosevelt High School’s student council. She is also involved in Best Buddies, Cancer Awareness Club, Link Crew, Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA), Science Club, Soccer, Cross Country, Track, and Powerlifting. As a state officer, Avery hopes to grow South Dakota DECA and to enhance the DECA community.
V.P. of Career Development
Abbie has been an active member in DECA since her freshman year. Her sophomore year, she became Lincoln High School’s chapter V.P. of Communications and ran the chapter’s social media. Outside of DECA, Abbie is involved in Volleyball, Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA), Thrifting Club, Statesman, Speech and Debate. After high school, she hopes to continue her education out of state and pursue law. Abbie also enjoys engaging with members and hopes to be more involved in the SD DECA community. This year she hopes to empower SD DECA members, increase the competitive aspect of SD DECA and develop new chapters throughout SD.

Shandyn is a junior at Roosevelt High School and has been a member of DECA since his freshman year. During his time as a member of Roosevelt DECA, Shandyn has learned leadership and communication skills which he uses in a multitude of other activities he is involved in. Outside of DECA, he is involved in Debate, Tribal Club, Link Crew, and Track. Goals that Shandyn hopes to achieve during his time as a state officer are to expand DECA throughout South Dakota and to effectively improve chapter communications.

Teranysha is a junior at Lincoln High School where she is involved in Serve and Learn Student Association (SALSA), Quiz Bowl, Debate, and has been a member of DECA since her freshman year. As a member of South Dakota DECA, her flexibility and time management skills have improved exponentially. This year, Teranysha will strive to make South Dakota DECA a driving leader of the Central Region!
